Vintage Vixen

I have not been posting as frequently in the last couple of weeks because I’ve been working like a crazed woman on my second novel, Gently Used. The novel tells the story of a fictional vintage clothing store, the women who work and shop there, and the garments that come through the door. It is loads of fun to write, and whenever I get blocked, I do research on vintage fashion, which has led me to some fun discoveries online.

A recent search for 1950′s ball gowns led me to the Etsy store of Timeless Vixen, a vintage shop based out of Beverly Hills. The shop carries an impressive range of fashion from the 1870s to the 1970s. Here are a few of my favorites. I hope they inspire your imagination like they inspired mine.

1950s ball gown

1950s mermaid dress

1940s dress and bolero

Dior gown, circa 1950

1920s embroidered tunic

I am sort of doing nanowrimo, but I’m cheating because I’m not starting a new novel. I’m just using all the motivation and energy to finish the first draft of my work in progress.

Please, please, please put me on your mailing list of people dying to read your book. I have been dealing in vintage for nearly 20 years – buying, wearing, collecting, selling. So excited to read about your book and to discover your blog. I found it via Mrs. Lilien!
